Malang, Juni 2022 – Sekolah Dasar Negeri (SDN) Polehan 2 di Kota Malang telah menunjukkan komitmen dan dedikasinya dalam peduli dan berbudaya lingkungan hidup melalui program PBLHS (Peduli dan Berbudaya Lingkungan Hidup di Sekolah). Inisiatif yang diambil oleh sekolah ini mendapat apresiasi dari Kepala Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan, Suwarjana, SE, MM, yang mengakui peran penting PBLHS dalam membentuk kesadaran lingkungan di kalangan pelajar.
Program PBLHS di SDN Polehan 2 bertujuan untuk mengajarkan siswa tentang pentingnya pelestarian lingkungan dan budaya sejak dini. Melalui serangkaian kegiatan edukatif dan berbasis aksi, siswa diberdayakan untuk menjadi agen perubahan yang bertanggung jawab terhadap lingkungan sekitar mereka.
Salah satu aspek penting dari program ini adalah keterlibatan siswa dalam kegiatan langsung untuk membersihkan lingkungan sekolah dan sekitarnya. Di bawah bimbingan guru dan staf sekolah, para siswa belajar tentang pengelolaan sampah yang benar, daur ulang, dan pentingnya menjaga kebersihan lingkungan. Mereka juga dilibatkan dalam menanam pohon dan merawat taman sekolah sebagai langkah nyata dalam melestarikan alam.
Selain itu, program ini juga menekankan pada pemanfaatan sumber daya alam secara bijaksana. Melalui workshop dan kegiatan terstruktur, siswa diajarkan tentang penggunaan energi terbarukan, pentingnya konservasi air, dan bagaimana cara mengurangi jejak karbon.
Keberhasilan PBLHS di SDN Polehan 2 tidak lepas dari dukungan dan peran aktif kepala sekolah, guru, serta orang tua siswa. Mereka secara bersama-sama menciptakan lingkungan yang mendukung pembelajaran berbasis lingkungan, menciptakan kesadaran yang berkelanjutan tentang perlunya menjaga kebersihan dan keseimbangan ekosistem.
Suwarjana juga mendorong sekolah-sekolah lain untuk mengambil contoh dari SDN Polehan 2 dan melibatkan siswa dalam program serupa. Dengan demikian, diharapkan bahwa semakin banyak generasi muda yang sadar akan pentingnya pelestarian lingkungan dan berkontribusi aktif dalam menjaga keberlanjutan bumi.
Dengan keberhasilan PBLHS di SDN Polehan 2, diharapkan bahwa semakin banyak sekolah di Indonesia yang akan mengadopsi pendekatan serupa untuk mengajarkan siswa tentang pentingnya peduli dan berbudaya lingkungan hidup, sehingga menciptakan masyarakat yang lebih peduli dan bertanggung jawab terhadap bumi kita.
